These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and KinJoin (“we,” “our,” or “us”) about your use of the KinJoin mobile app and getkinjoin.com (together, the “Service”). By creating an account or using KinJoin, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use KinJoin.
Who Can Use KinJoin
- Age: You must be at least 13 years old to use KinJoin. If you're under 18, a parent or guardian should review these Terms with you.
- Your account: Give accurate information, keep your password safe, and tell us if you think someone else is using your account. You're responsible for what happens under your account.
Your Content
- What it is: Your content is what you post: answers, photos, comments, replies, reactions and links.
- You own it: You keep ownership of your content. You give KinJoin permission to store it, show it to the members of the groups you post in, and make the copies needed to run the Service (for example, backups and smaller versions of photos). This permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except for backup copies kept for a limited time or anything we must keep by law.
- You're responsible for it: You're responsible for what you post, and you must have the right to post it.
Community Rules
KinJoin is for families and friends. Don’t post or send anything that:
- Is illegal, or promotes illegal activity
- Harasses, bullies, threatens, or attacks anyone, including hate based on who someone is
- Is sexually explicit, or sexualizes or endangers a minor in any way. We have zero tolerance for this and report it to the authorities.
- Shares someone else's private information without their permission
- Impersonates someone or is meant to mislead people
- Is spam, a scam, or malware, or links to any of these
- Infringes someone else's copyright, trademark, or other rights
Also don’t try to break, overload, or get around the Service’s security, get into accounts or groups that aren’t yours, or collect other people’s information.
Links to Other Websites
Comments and replies can include links to other websites. Those sites aren’t run by KinJoin. We don’t review or endorse them, and we aren’t responsible for their content or for anything that happens when you visit them. Open links only from people you trust.
Reporting and Enforcement
- Report it: You can report an answer, comment, or reply from its ••• menu in the app, or email us at hello@getkinjoin.com. We review reports promptly.
- What we may do: We may remove content that breaks these Terms, and suspend or close accounts that break them, with or without notice.
- Group owners: The owner of a group can remove members from it.
Purchases and Subscriptions
- What you can buy: KinJoin offers optional in-app purchases: one-time purchases such as streak freezes, Restore streak and custom prompts, and the KinJoin Plus subscription. They're processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) under their terms.
- KinJoin Plus: KinJoin Plus is a subscription that renews automatically, monthly or yearly. The app shows the price, the period and what's included before you subscribe. Payment is charged to your Apple or Google account when you confirm the purchase.
- Renewal: Your subscription renews at the end of each period at the then-current price, and your account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends, unless you turn off automatic renewal at least 24 hours before then.
- Cancelling: Cancel anytime in your App Store or Google Play account settings (in KinJoin: Profile, then Manage subscription). Plus keeps working until the end of the period you've paid for. Deleting the app or your KinJoin account doesn't cancel a subscription.
- No cash value: Purchased items and subscriptions have no cash value, can't be transferred or exchanged, and belong to the KinJoin account you were signed into when you bought them.
- Refunds: Refunds, including for subscriptions, are handled by Apple or Google under their policies; we can't issue them directly. If a purchase is refunded, we may remove what it gave you.
- Using them up: Items you've used (for example, a freeze that covered a missed day, or a custom prompt that ran) are used up. If you delete your account, anything unused is lost.
- Changes: We may change prices or what's offered. A change never affects a purchase you've already made. A subscription's new price applies only from a later renewal, and Apple or Google tells you before it does.
Ending Your Account
You can delete your account at any time in the app (Profile, then Edit, then Delete account). We may suspend or close an account that breaks these Terms, or to protect other people or the Service. The parts of these Terms that by their nature should continue after your account ends (such as the disclaimers and limits of liability) still apply.
Disclaimers
KinJoin is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We don’t promise that the Service will always be available or error-free, or that streaks, notifications, or content will never be lost.
Limitation of Liability
To the extent the law allows, KinJoin isn’t liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data or content, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim about the Service is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $50.
Apple and Google
If you got KinJoin from the App Store or Google Play, these Terms are between you and KinJoin, not Apple or Google, and their store terms also apply. Apple and Google aren’t responsible for KinJoin or its support. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms. We’ll post the new version here and change the date at the top, and for significant changes we’ll also let you know in the app. If you keep using KinJoin after a change, you accept the updated Terms.
