Who These Standards Apply To
These standards apply to the KinJoin: Daily Family Check-In app for iOS and Android (package name com.anythingair.kinjoin), the KinJoin website at getkinjoin.com, and every person who uses them. They are published by the app's developer, Robert Christianson, and they apply in addition to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Where local law is stricter than these standards, we follow the law.
What Is Prohibited
KinJoin prohibits child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) in every form. CSAE means any content or behavior that sexually exploits, abuses, or endangers a child (anyone under 18). This includes, and is not limited to:
Child sexual abuse material (CSAM)
Posting, sharing, requesting, or storing any image, video, or text that depicts a minor in a sexual way. This includes illustrated, computer-generated, or AI-generated material.
Grooming and solicitation
Contacting, befriending, or building trust with a minor for sexual purposes, requesting sexual content from a minor, or arranging to meet a minor for sexual purposes.
Sextortion and trafficking
Threatening or coercing a minor to obtain sexual content, money, or favors, and any content that advertises, facilitates, or promotes the trafficking of a child.
Sexualization of minors
Any content that presents a minor as an object of sexual interest, including comments, prompts, or answers that sexualize a child.
There is no exception for private groups, family groups, or content shared "as a joke." A single violation results in a permanent ban.
How KinJoin Is Designed for Safety
Private, invitation-only groups
KinJoin is not an open social network. There is no public feed, no discovery, no search, and no way to contact a stranger. People can only see and interact with members of groups they were explicitly invited to.
No users under 13
KinJoin is built for parents, grown children, and other adults who want to stay close. Children under 13 may not create accounts. If we learn that an account belongs to a child under 13, we delete it.
Group owners control membership
The person who created a group can remove any member at any time, and any member can leave. Invite codes can be reset by the owner so a shared link stops working.
Minimal data
KinJoin collects only what it needs to run the app and never sells personal data. Photos shared in a group are visible only to that group.
How to Report a Concern
If you see anything in KinJoin that may involve the sexual exploitation or endangerment of a child, please report it right away. You can do this without leaving the app.
In the app
Open the answer, tap the menu, and choose Report. The report goes straight to our moderation queue with the content attached, and it is reviewed by a person.
By email
Email hello@getkinjoin.com with a description of what you saw and, if you can, the group name and the date. You do not need to include the content itself.
If a child is in immediate danger
Contact your local emergency services first. In the United States you can also report to NCMEC's CyberTipline at report.cybertip.org or 1-800-843-5678.
What We Do When We Find It
Every report is reviewed by a person, and reports involving a possible child are reviewed first. When we confirm CSAE or CSAM, we:
Remove it and ban the account
The content is removed immediately and the account responsible is permanently banned. Related accounts and groups are reviewed.
Report it to NCMEC and law enforcement
We report confirmed CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) as required by U.S. law, and we cooperate with law enforcement investigations, including lawful requests for records.
Preserve evidence
We preserve the relevant content and account records for the period required by law so that investigators can act on the report.
We comply with all applicable child safety laws, including the U.S. federal reporting requirements for providers, the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), and Google Play's Child Safety Standards policy and Apple's App Store guidelines.
